


Raising pigs for the first time?
Well you've come to the right place. Here's a handful of FAQ's that may interest you!
- Pigs produce there own Vitamin C. So you want to make sure they are not fed any.
- If you want a friendly pig that doesn't want to eat you spend time with it and give it plenty of scratches. They are very smart, fun and friendly.
- You can worm them naturally with cayenne pepper and garlic powder.
- Pigs don't sweat and so they need mud to keep themselves cool. Although many pigs like to be sprayed down with the hose you should only spray their sides, belly and back end. Never on the top of the back
- Never chase a pig, especially in the heat
- If they get out you can lead them with a scoop of grain, if that doesn't work you can put a can over their head they will back up on their own. You might want to tie a small rope to one of the back legs to get it to go in the direction you want.
- Pigs are very resilient and can survive in just about any climate, The only thing that is very important for shelter is that they can get out of the wind and rain. You want to give them a nice deep bed of hay in winter.
